Rebellion’s Aliens vs Predator was released some days ago and already it’s managed an interesting feat in the UK. Even with AAA titles like BioShock 2 and Mass Effect 2 out there, AvP has become the fastest-selling title of the year so far, taking the number one spot on last week’s sales charts despite its Friday debut.
With sales up 55% over last week, the second place is once more occupied by Ubisoft’s Just Dance, followed by last week’s nr1 BioShock 2 (-71%) and New Super Mario Bros. Wii (+59%).
Thanks to the ongoing Winter Olympics, two other Sega-published titles, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games and Vancouver 2010, both saw considerable increases in sales — 76% and 274%, respectively.
