I have fond memories of riding my bike to the local comic book store to play the arcade game Mortal Kombat. To this day, one of my proudest gaming achievements was successfully performing Liu Kang’s finishing uppercut on The Pit level and sending a stunned Scorpion towards a spiky death below. From what I’ve seen, the reboot is trying to capitalize on the original game’s violent glory, while adding in some of the feature film’s…depth? It almost pains me to say that. Either way, Liu Kang is once again out for vengeance, ready to bicycle kick butt and take names.
