2012 will see a “major” addition to the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Ubisoft’s confirmed on its earnings call today. As for details, we’re out of luck. There’s Revelations to sell first, after all.
“There will be another great, full-fledged Assassin’s Creed title next year,” CEO Yves Guillemot said on the call. “It will be another major release and we will be communicating more about it in the coming months.”
With Revelations wrapping up Ezio’s story, we can expect the next game to focus on Desmond. It’s been said to be the character’s “grand finale.”
