Let’s not beat around the bush here: Rolando for the iPhone/iPod Touch looks exactly like the beyond excellent LocoRoco on that handheld that’s not the Nintendo DS. It’s colorful, quirky and has black spider thingys out to ruin the lives of your cute blobs. Is this a bad thing? No, it’s not. Some will cry foul that it’s a blatant rip off, but they need to get hit with a bag of hammers and dragged over to their game collection because most games are rip offs with a different name and switched around weapons. Oh mercy, who let my cynic out?
That being said, I very much want this game. Just look at the trailer! It’s so damn cute, I think I’m going to puke sugar-coated teddy bears riding rainbow unicorns. With its high production values, controls that take advantage of the platform’s abilities and well, it’s likeness to LocoRoco, I’ll happily plunk down the $9.99 for this bucket of ridiculous. It’s available for download now from the App Store, unlike certain sequels to certain games which taunt from a distance. Oh, just you wait.
