Call of Duty: Black Ops came out today, as most of you are probably aware. But that’s old news already, as Activision looks to the future, announcing another Call of Duty will be arriving in the late-half of 2011. So far Sledgehammer Games has not directly been named as the developer for 2011’s installment, but the studio has been in the hiring mood and seem like the most likely choice after what happened at Infinity Ward.
More interesting though is where the franchise will go. Right now everything is rumor, but sources have whispered to Gamasutra that the game may be set in the future, and feature “space marines”. Whether this will be true or not, only time will tell, but Activision’s past actions speak for themselves.
