We had hoped that the Xperia Play would launch ready to play all of the PS One Classics that we’d previously bought via PS3/PSP. That won’t be the case though, as Nathan Vautier, managing director for Sony Ericsson UK and Ireland confirmed to GameSpot.
Speaking at the device’s reveal in Barcelona, he stated: “[Xperia Play owners] will have to re-purchase the games, so it’s not totally integrated. I think the exciting thing is that there are games which people are very, very aware of.”
That’s a bit of a bummer for all of those fans that already have a library of PS One games ready to go. Xperia Play launches in March in the US.
